Color
Your music’s colors, across the whole interface
Chameleon extracts a palette from the cover of the album you’re listening to and applies it to the interface: the background, the buttons, the bar and other parts of the player. The change takes about 800 milliseconds every time the song changes. Color is only part of it: Chameleon also transforms the app with the rhythm and feel of each song.
Two colors with different roles
The dominant color is used for the background, and the accent color highlights interactive elements. Chameleon analyzes the cover’s tones and applies rules to choose the ones best suited to each role.
- Dominant color
- Prefers a dark, vivid tone; if it can’t find a suitable one, it picks the most vivid and, as a last resort, the most abundant.
- Accent color
- Prefers a vivid tone; if there isn’t a suitable one, it tries a vivid, light tone and then a more muted one.
Contrast matters too
Chameleon adjusts the accent color so it stands out against the background. Text follows contrast criteria based on the WCAG accessibility guidelines. When the cover is light, the interface uses pastel tones.
- 4,5:1
- Minimum text contrast under WCAG criteria.
- Pastel treatment
- On light covers, it raises the brightness and softens the interface tones.
When no song is playing
When no music is playing, Chameleon can use the colors of your wallpaper or of the image you choose for the app. You can also select one of the available themes or define your own color combination.
